Senior Developer

Job Summary:

The developer will be responsible for developing the Technical Infrastructure of Clients' websites and for development of internal proprietary software applications including the implementation of data collection and data transfer platforms. The developer will create codes that comply with Resercom coding standards, work with management and developers to ensure deadlines are met and product quality is high and perform development-level testing.

Responsibilities:

* Create robust, extensible web applications using PHP, and MySQL
* Explain technical ideas and designs to peers
* Take projects from specification to end user experience

Key Activities:

* Reports to lead developer
* Complete project tasks per requirements
* Complete projects within assigned deadlines
* Ensure quality of the product is upheld
* Provide input and feedback on project planning

Job Requirements:

* Be able to take a project through the entire Software Development Life Cycle with little oversight
* Excellent communications skills

Knowledge:

* Linux, Apache
* MySQL 5.x database design
* PHP 5.x development
* Object-oriented design and distributed systems
* Regular expressions
* XML parsing
* Service-oriented architectures
* Subversion
* Shell scripting
* Test harnesses (PHPUnit, etc.) and continuous integration
* Selenium or other front end testing
* Familiarity with PHPDoc
* Smarty templates
* AJAX, Javascript
* CSS
* Trac

ADDITIONAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

* The preferred candidate must have a bachelor's or advanced degree in Computer Science, related technical field, or equivalent experience with at least 3 years of PHP application development with LAMP Technologies.
* Individual must possess the ability to work independently and as part of a team, ability to manage projects, communicate readily and clearly and stay on top of deadlines to ensure product release and delivery.
* Must be familiar with all aspects of Resercom
* Keeps immediate supervisor promptly and fully informed of all issues (i.e. problems, unusual matters of significance and positive events).
* Performs all position responsibilities and performance objectives in a timely and effective manner in accordance with established company policies and procedures.
